Ethics & compliance

As a leading international oil and gas, exploration and production company, we have a responsibility to conduct business with the highest levels of integrity, in full compliance with regulations and industry standards. These standards and guidelines constitute a framework of reference for our CSR approach and enable us to evaluate our commitments against the backdrop of broadly recognised criteria and best practices. We rely on the following ones to consistently reassess our CSR performance and seek continuous improvement in the way we conduct our business:

To ensure our workforce adheres to our principles of integrity and professionalism, we have developed a Code of Conduct, supplemented by additional policies, that provides a common standard for behaviour in the performance of duties and in dealings with others. We apply the same ethics across the entire organisation, at all levels and in all locations:

  • Respectful workplace
  • Ethical conduct and avoidance of conflicts of interest
  • Anti-corruption

The Code is supplemented by additional internal policies.

Requirements and controls

To ensure employees are aware of and adhere to the Code of Conduct, a copy is distributed to all permanent, temporary and fixed-term contract employees. Employees are required to complete a comprehensive e-learning course which delivers a certificate filed by our human resources department. An internal whistle-blowing system is available to allow employees at all levels of the Company to report known deviations from the Code of Conduct and incidents of non-compliance with applicable legislations or other fraudulent activities.

We rely on our partners to deliver projects both safely and on time. As part of our commitment to building long-term relationships of trust, we ensure that our suppliers are treated with the utmost respect and provide them with knowledge transfer and training opportunities in return for compliance with our standards. We also recognise that for Addax Petroleum to operate ethically and with integrity, we need to ensure our suppliers share and live our values.
